admin Reward Your Way to Stop Smoking
June 26th, 2010
Blogger If you have decided that you want to quit smoking cigaretts, there are a lot of things that you can do that will help you to stop smoking.
You can reward yourself as a way to stop smoking. Remember it has been proven that you can influence a certain behavior by rewarding it after the positive behavior has been accomplished.

You can do the same thing. This is known as positive reinforcement and you can use it to program yourself to change your smoking habits.
So you can start this program for yourself by rewarding yourself at the end of the day if it is a day that you didn’t smoke a cigaretteĀ at all.
If you only smoke one cigarette in the day, then you cannot reward yourself. It will confuse your brain between what is the new behavior and what is the old behavior.
You should reward yourself either when you get home or at the end of the day. Just make sure that it is the same time every day.
As you attempt to stop smoking, you will find that you may have to fight through some withdrawalsymptoms. The rewards will take you through to becoming a non-smoker.
You will have to come up with what the rewards are and how often that you will receive them.

You can give yourself some daily small rewards and then save the big rewards for once a week.
However, whatever the rewards are, you want to make sure that you jot them down in your journal.
Write down your accomplishments and rewards and put them in your journal.
Once you write it down in your journal, when you get discouraged or think that you will start smoking again, you can
look in there and see how far you have come as well as look at what your rewards will be.
Don’t be afraid to let your friends and family know what you are doing so that they can help to reward and cheer you on in your endeavor.
Remember that the rewards will get you through the tough times and will help you really be successful in your goal to quit smoking.

How to Dive With Force Into Your Source
June 8th, 2010
Blogger So you have found your source of strength. It is now time for you to jump feet first into that source. It is time for you to really spend all of your energies directed to your new source that offers you all sorts of satisfaction.

Previously, you may have dropped this passion for time spent smoking the marijuana. You are now going to replace the marijuana with your passion. Now you may get discouraged from time to time because you may still smoke the marijuana instead of spending time on your source.
Relax, you are just starting out and that may happen at the start or beginning of your changeover. Instead of getting upset at that take a look at what you have done so far. How much have you progressed?
Your decision to stop smoking marijuana may not happen overnight. It is different for everyone. There might be one person that stops completely. There are others like you that may stop in a step-by-step process. That is OK. The most
important factor is that you are moving toward your goal.

The key is progression not necessarily perfection. So when you get home, get started on doing something with your passion. Schedule time to work on your passion. If your passion is to draw, then schedule time slots throughout your
day to draw.
When you actually schedule the time into your day to spend time on your passion, then you are using up the time that you might otherwise have spent smoking.
Don’t ever forget the 21 day rule. It takes approximately 21 days for a habit to be either created or broken.Ā So you must schedule the new activity that you are going to use that will replace the time spent smoking marijuana. After approximately 21 days ofĀ spending your time with your new activity, you will have created a new habit and in the process gotten rid of the old habit.

The key to accomplish this is to take small steps and think about consistency.Ā As time passes, the new passion will be what you normally do and the old habit will gradually fade away.
Just remember to schedule your time. What you find is that you will often go over your scheduled time and will continue to work on your new activity. You will find that you willĀ spend more time with your new activity than you do with your old habit of smoking marijuana.

How to Find Your Reason Why You Want to Quit
June 5th, 2010
Blogger If you have decided that you want to quit smoking cigarettes, do you know why? In other words, do you know what your inner why is?
There are a lot of different reasons why you might like to quit smoking. It may be for health reasons.
http://www.HowToQuitCigarettes.com
There are a lot of reasons to quit from a health view. Though it isn’t the only reason, smokers have been known to develop cancer. It has been proven that secondary smoke is not healthy for those who do not smoke. So if you are a smoker and live with non smokers you are not helping them.
Maybe you are going to quit smoking because you want to do whatever you can to make sure that you will stay alive and see your children and grandchildren.
Maybe you have decided that you want to save your money instead ofĀ watching it go up in smoke.

Cigarettes definitely cost quite a bit. Depending on how much you smoke every day, you might be smoking up a new house, a new car or even a vacation.
Your reason to quit might be that you just want to prove to yourself that you can do it. Overcoming anĀ addiction to something will give you a great feeling of accomplishment.
However, whatever the reason is, you want to make sure that you jot it down in your journal. Once you write it down in your journal, you want to make sure that you also read it at least 10 times a day.
So many times, the whys end up being more of a factor than the how to do it. The whys or your inner why is what is driving you to quit. ItĀ is going to be what motivates you.

So as you go forward in your endeavor to quit smoking, remember that youĀ want to make sure that you find your inner why. Once you have determined what your inner why is, then make sure that you write it down in your journal and read it at least 10 times a day.
This will be the second step in your plan on how to quit smoking cigarettes

So what you need to do is to replace the so called marijuana strength and put something else in its place. This could turn out to be a different activity, a hobby, a belief in a higher being, or even a passion that you might have developed.Ā What you want to do is to look within yourself and see what it is that you feel extremely strong about. What is it that stirs your adrenalin?
Whatever you feel strongly about will help you to feel energized. A true source of strength will help you to overcome any addiction. What you are going to do is to replace the smoking of marijuana with something that will bring you satisfaction and energy over a long period of time.
A great way to help you find your source of strength is to make a chart that you will name your personal highlights chart.

On this chart you will list the important moments in your life. These moments arethe highlights or the times in your life that you really felt good about yourself. These highlights might include your achievements or times that something happened that really gave you a lot of satisfaction.
Once you have written down the highlights, then you want to look through the highlights and figure out which event or highlight had the greatest impact on your life.

How To Use Your Journal to Stop Smoking
June 1st, 2010
Blogger If you are going into battle, you always go prepared. You make sure that you have the right kind of uniform on. You make sure that if you are taking any kind of armor, that you have on what will protect you. The same is going to be true for you. You are going to wage a battle with yourself as you go through the process of quitting cigarettes. A piece of your armor is going to be a journal. You are probably wondering why you need a journal, but that is what we are going to discuss today. I am going to give you three reasons why you want to use a journal.

Reason #1 – You can write down your goals
A lot of people kind of laugh at this and won’t do it, but if you are really serious about writing down what your goals, you have a better chance of seeing them come to fruition. It seems that when you write something down, that there is more of an inclination to follow through with an action. Writing down what you are thinking, wishing and hoping for is the first step toward reality.

Reason #2 – You can track your progress
A great way to follow your progress is to write it down. You want to write everything down relating to your goal to quit smoking. Write down how many cigarettes that you smoked each day, how you felt when you didn’t smoke, how you felt if you had a cigarette or how you felt when you made it through some consecutive days not smoking. You want to make sure that you write your feelings down and then read over them. You will be able to follow every action through your battle as you go back and read what you have written.

Reason #3 – You can write your positive affirmations
Changing a habit involves not only stopping the action, but also change yourself mentally. If you are involved in a negative action, then the best way to change the mental part of the action is to change the mode or way of thinking. If you are thinking negatively, then you want to go the opposite direction and start thinking positive. One of the best ways to do this is to write down and read positive statements. We call these statements affirmation statements. These also are useful in changing your mind sets to think and believe that you are no longer going to smoke.
These are three reasons why you should use a journal in your battle against smoking.
